GBC Reviews: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe

This is one of the BEST Game Boy Color games you can find. It may be a remake of the first NES Mario game, but it is hella fun. Not only does it incude the original Mario Bros, but also tons of extras. There is the red coin challenge mode, The VS mode that you play with a friend (link cable), and many more. You can also win awards, then print them out with a Game Boy Camera.

For those of you who have never played Mario bros. for the NES, it is very basic. Story goes like this, You are Mario, and the princess of Mushroom kingdom has been captured by the Evil 'king' Bowser. It is up to you to save her from Bowsers castle, you have to go through a nice amount of fun, challenging levels, it's a nice 2-d platformer, one of the most loved of all time. You really can't go wrong with this game, unless you are the anti gamer;-).

The graphics are pretty nice for a handheld. Nothing big, but it's very fun to play, cartoonish graphics that make you feel nice inside:). Keep in mind that this is a game that all ages can enjoy, not just kids. The levels can get very challenging, but it's all good.

Graphics: For an 8 bit handheld, 10.
Sound: pretty good, 7.
Gameplay: 10!

Well, I hope you all will like my first reveiw at this site.

GBC Reviews: Wario Land 2

This is more of a Action game than a platformer, that's what makes it so different then Mario games. The levels are slow paced (still very fun) and a little bit harder to complete. So who is Wario!?! Wario is Marios evil brother, Not just evil, but exteremely greedy. He tries to get every gold coin he can get. Plot: Captain Syrup and the Black sugar gang have stolen Wario's gold coins! It's up tp you to help Wario find all his gold coins, and beat the bad guys.

Go through 8 (?) levels of treasure hunting action, bonus games, and multiple endings! Each level has its own look, feel, and srategy. You will have to think of ways to get around obstacles and other things, so be prepared. If you die, you can easily restart at your last save point, so dont worry about having to do things all over again.

Would i recomend Wario Land 2, or Super Mario Bros. deluxe? Hmm...If you can, buy both, but if you can only buy one, buy Mario. While this is still a good game, it is missing that Mario magic...but it is still worthwile:-)

Gameplay: 8
Graphics: 9
Overall: 8 and a half.

GBC Reviews: Super Mario Land 2: Six golden coins

One word to describe this game: Fun. It may be an original Game Boy game, that is not in full color, regarless of that it is still a very awesome game.
This game beats most of the GBC games in terms of quality. If you see it at a store or on the internet, pick it up. You can probably find it for 10 to 20 dollars, wich is a great deal. Definetly buy it, if you like the simple Mario platfrom feel. The levels are extermely fun, I guarantee you will not be dissapointed by this game.
This game most relates to Mario land for the SNES, it first starts off on an island, as you progress and open up new stages, it gets more challenging. The bad guy is none other than Wario, once you get through all of the levels you will go to his castle, then battle him 2d style! For each 'zone' you batle a boss at the last level for that 'zone'...for exapmple, once you get through all the levels in the tree zone, you battle the boss of the tree zone, and so on. For each zone you get through, you get a gold coin, you need six gold coins in all to get to Wario.
Final Word: Don't pass up this game. It is one of the best mario titles to date. The good thing is it is a completely new game (when it came out) unlike Super Mario bros. Deluxe and Mario Advance...Hopefully, Nintendo will create something like this on the GBA.
Oh, and this game is compatible on the Game Boy Color.
Gameplay: 10
Graphics: Black and white, 2d, this game makes GBC games look like they have good graphics, but still I will give it a 6 and a half.
Overall: 10

Next up: Tetris for the GB.

Tetris Game Boy

Ah, Tetris...Considered one of the best puzzle games ever made. Well, it is, and it is also very addictive. There isn't alot to say about this game. But it is very addictive, and fun. Plot: Shape of all kinds come down from the screen, you can turn them sideways upisde down, right side up, anything like that. You have to get a full row across the screen. If you suck at it and dont, the blocks will build up on you and you lose:P.

Graphics are pretty old. No color, simple puzzle game. Good for roadtrips though. You can probably find this game for 5 dollars or so. If you do, it will be a good addition to your Game Boy collection. If you are a puzzle fan, you most likely love this game.

Also try: Pokemon Puzzle League, and if there is, a Tetris for Game Boy Color

(This game is playable on Game Boy color).

Gameplay: 8
Graphics: Compred to todays standerds, 5
Overall: 7, but great for puzzle game fans.

Game Boy Color: A look into the future.

Only a month or so until Game Boy Colors big brother launches in the US. So, what will happen to the Game Boy Color market? No doubt, it will slow down. But there are still plenty of games left for the system.
We will still see games for another couple months, but that's it most likely.

The good thing is, the price of GBC games will probably drop alot. Imagine picking up Wario Land 3 for 10- 15 dollar, cool eh? The price of the Game Boy Color will most likely drop too, so it will make a good gift for the few people who still do not have one.

Don't forget that you will still be able to play GBC games on your Game Boy Advance....you are all buying one, right? You better be!

Reveiw: Pokemon Version Blue for Game Boy and Game Boy Color

In all honesty, I don't see what the big deal is with this game. In my opinion, it is VERY repetive and boring, other reveiws have it good scores, but In my opinion, this game flat out sucks. Go around catching monsters by fighting them with the pokemon you already have, turnbased style. *Yawn*. It has a nice plot, but its verrrry boring!

Maybe it's just me? Well lets see, maybe if I break it down you will see it my way. You start off as ash, but you can name him who ever you want, an 11 year or so old boy who wants to grow up to be a pokemon master or whatever. Not very exciting. Big whoop. So you go to the proffesors office and choose a pokemon to start your journey, you choose from a charmander, balbasour, or a squirtle. Still with me? Okay, you take whatever pokemon you want, and start your 'adventure'.

You go through cities, and make your way up to the gym leader for that city. You battle pokemons with the gym leader of the city and if you win you get a badge, and continue. Its a regular turn based rpg, but IMO it is exteremly boring, maybe if you like these kind of games you should pick it up, it's your money...Rent it first. If anyone disagrees with me about this reveiw, I wouldn't be surprised, it's just not my cup of tea.

Mario Tennis

This is a good game, but it falls short in a few areas.

Gameplay: The gameplay in Mario's Tennis is pretty good. It keeps you interested in the game, and you don't get bored. The only problem is there are only 3 Nintendo charecters ('Baby' Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong). The rest of the charecers are new, but they are just average kids. Still, the game is fun.

Graphics: This is where the game falls short. The graphics are way to 'basic'. They don't take advantage of the color in Game Boy Color. Also, the charecters are not very detailed, and seem too small.

Sound: The music in Mario's Tennis is good. It is not annoying, and it is not the type of music that you have to turn off in order to enjoy the game.

Control: Usually the control is good. Sometimes it can get somewhat 'slow', but most of the time is it nothing to complain about.

Overall: If you like tennis games this is a must have for GBC. Even if you aren't a tennis game fan, it is still a good game. It doesn't get boring, and it keeps you interested.

Sound- 10

Look for reveiws of DKC and the new Zelda soon.

Donkey Kong Country

This game was originally on the SNES, so you can consider it a port. A very good port, actually.

Story: Storms lashed the rugged terrain if Kong Island, and outside Donkey Kong's tree house, Diddy shivered. DK has assigned him to guard duty on this awful night as part of his "hero training," and he was not happy about it... But a rustling in the udnergrowth soon brought him out of his reverie.

"W-w-who goes there?!?" Diddy called. There was no answer but the flashing of claws and teeth. Diddy somersaulted into the fray but was quickly overcome by the weight of many scaly assailants.

"It'sss the sssmall one... Ssseal him inssside thisss barrel and tosss it into the bussshesss... Donkey Kong'sss bananasss are oursss!" came a sinister voice.

The next morning, Donkey Kong awoke to the familiar rasping voice of Cranky Kong. "Take a look inside your banana cave," Cranky cackled from outside his treehouse. "You'r in for a big surprise!"

Donkey's mind raced as he vaulted to the cave and peered inside. Instead of the dull golden glow of thousands of bananas, there were only a few discarded peels. These had been trampled into the dirt by hundreds of reptilian feet, judging from the many three-toed footprints that covered the damp covern floor. But what about...

"Diddy... gone... my little buddy" DK murmered to himself. He was suddenly filled with conviction. "The Kremlings will pay!" he raged. "I'll hunt them down through every corner of my island, until I have every last banana from my hoard back!"

Gameplay: The gameplay is fun. You control DK or Diddy, in a 2D platforming adventure. This is kind of like Mario Or Sonic, but a bit slower.

Graphics: The graphics in DKC are goodm but they are kind of dark. Its not very "Bright" and is sometimes hard to see things, and the backround is blurred.

Sound: The music is nice, it goes along good with the game.

Control: Good most of the time, but sometimes laggy.

Overall: A fun game with a bunch of levels, and a few mini games. Overall a game that some may want to buy, but you may be better of renting it for a week or so.

Sound: 10
Control: 8
