JAMES BOND 007 One big surprise coming to the Nintendo GameCube in 2002 is James Bond 007 Agent Under Fire. Its being made by Eurocom and published by EA. Word has it that this game is a brand-new Bond. It isn't based on any movie to date. That's good for us, because Eurocom and do whatever they want. Bond has a bunch of new "Q" gadgets. One includes a watch that turns into a grappling hook to get in to higher air-vents. Also, rumor has it a new Jet-Pack will be in the game...very cool. SUPER SMASH BROTHERS 2
This is one of my most anticipated titles. There's about zero news on this. The Nintendo 64 version had insane battles, where you didn't have power, but a percentage. The higher your percentage was, the easier it was to get knocked off the level. We can expect 4 player battles again and hopefully a whole bunch of new characters. I'm looking forward to seeing Kid Icarus, Banjo and Kazooie, Diddy Kong, Peach, Zelda, and more in this game. Word has it as an American launch title DINOSAUR PLANET
This is a 3d action/adventure game, along the lines of Zelda, from RareWare. There are 2 main characters to play in the game: Sabre and Krystal. You must go through huge worlds to fight the evils that plague the land. The game was going to come out on the Nintendo 64 but Rare decided to pull the plug and redo it for the cube. It features hours of voice, and great music. Rumor is going around that this might get a face lift and be turned into "Star Fox Adventures" ETERNAL DARKNESS
The team making this made the first Legacy Of Kain game, so you know your in store for some frightful effects. This isn't a survival-horror game, its more of a mind game. You travel through time to unlock hidden secrets. There are 13 playable charters, and there is something called an "Insanity Meter" So when your player gets frightened, it will go up. If it gets too high, you can actually go insane. METROID
Were not sure how this game will turn out. Its being developed by Retro Studios. They started making a "Danger Girl" type of game, but that got canned. Nintendo approached them and asked if they would like to work on the next Metroid. They, of course, said yes. Retro then used the "danger girl game" engine of the Metroid game. It started out as a 3rd person adventure game. There were many camera problems that Mr. Miyamoto didn't like. Retro and Nintendo agreed to make it a First Person Adventure game. Its a tricky thing to do, but we have hopes that they can pull it off. This game will be on video only at E3. ZELDA
We know just almost nothing about this game. All we can go on is the Space World "Demo." We all know it isn't a demo too. The demo started off with a very detailed Link fighting an impressive looking Ganondorf. They have a great battle, with amazing lighting effects. When Links sword hits Ganondorf's, sparks fly and the room lights up. The camera zooms out, and then does a close up of Ganondorf. Amazing detail here. Even his earring dangles just right. Ganondorf then does a motion with his hand to tell Link to come back and fight. The camera then zooms to Link. He has a shocked look on his face, also very detailed, and throws his shield down. Then clash, with a bright light. Demo? No, my friends, this is a game. PERFECT DARK 2
Perfect Dark for the N64 is one of the best first person shooters ever. It has great stealth, with awesome firepower. We can expect these to return to the GameCube sequel. Rumor has it that Rare started work on this game around August of 2000. Rare bought the domain name VelvetDark.com. Maybe Joanna wont return...maybe her sister will be the main character? We an expect at least 4 player deathmatch and coop. RESIDENT EVIL ZERO
Another game that started out as an N64 project. This is actually a prequel to all the RE games we now know. A big part of the game is played on a train, of course, filled with Zombies. Capcom added a few new features to this installment of Resident Evil. You can drop items anywhere, no need for an item box. Also, you can switch between another playable character at anytime in the game. I expect this one before the end of the year. WAVE RACE
This is my MOST anticipated game for launch. Again, not much info on this. We do know Nintendo handed this over its newly founded first party: Nintendo Software Technology. The video was shown at space world, and it was very, very impressive. The water effects were breathtaking. The rider would flow just perfect. Like the N64 counterpart, we should expect many tricks and multiplayer. Look for this at launch. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 are some of the best sports games ever. So There's no surprised they are already working on a 3rd. The team, Neversoft, has had GameCube development kits since January, so we can hope they have put them to good use. Tony Hawk 3 takes the game to a new level, it adds life to the city. People walk around, and even move out of your way. Cars drive by honking and stopping if you get in their way. You can even look through the windows of buildings and see what's going on! The PS2 version will have 2 player support, also online play. We can also hope for this on the GameCube version . |
